It's going to be so nice to have Tayet back - I miss that purring furball.

Yeah, everyone accumulates "sleep debt" (especially when we're young and dumb *coughorjustdumbcough* or when you tend an infant) but as long as you get regular sleep after that, you pay off the debt. You'll sleep deeper a little longer, and eventually you'll "pay the debt". When you have sleep apnea, you never get a full nights sleep no matter how long you sleep, because you interrupt your deep sleep cycle (where you are paralyzed and don't dream) because you can't breathe. You jump from comatose to full wakefulness for a couple of seconds, breaking the sleep cycle then you start again. Mine's pretty mild, mostly because my oxygen debt isn't severe. I didn't drop any lower than 92% but I'm still not getting normal sleep.

So what's a CPAP machine, and what will that do?

"A Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a machine that helps a person who has obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) breathe more easily during sleep. A CPAP machine increases air pressure in your throat so that your airway does not collapse when you breathe in." So I won't have to wake up to breathe, which will allow me to have normal sleep.

(And I must have missed something...what was going on that you decided to go and do this?)

- Back to bed. Oh - and I love the necklace. Very nice.
