They are very cute, and incredibly soft, not to mention bouncy. You have to be able to tolerate dust very well (they bathe in it)and you have to handle them very regularly or they won't be very people oriented. They are a rodent, so lots of chewing on things, and no 'real' litter training ("occasionally some of them can be trained to urinate in a box" so speaketh the Kim). They need good cage space where they can get exercise, and make sure the bottom isn't grated so they don't get foot sores. And of course, they should see a vet for regular check ups - and so on. :)

I love 'em, but I can't have that much dust - and my other pets might try and eat them. If Ankhet is nuts about rabbit fur, I can't imagine how crazy she'd go for Chinchilla!
