I was thinking mostly
apostle and maybe
xlana's Geekboi, but if anyone else has the time and skills to help, I'd be grateful. Probably in the way of food. :)
What I need to do, basically is get a very bright LED light to hook up with batteries and a switch - and all fit into the shape of a wand. Ultimately I'm making three of them, and I'm looking for purple, blue and green lights. I've got a set of clear lights, and have gone looking for batteries, but then found colored lights, but not purple - but they needed a 9 volt battery. About there, I realized I was kind of over my head, and help would not be a bad idea.
So, anyone who is willing and able to give me a hand (after the Holidays is very fine I'm pretty busy here too) and go with me and get the components, and help me solder them together would be grand.
Thanks!

Date: 2009-12-15 11:05 pm (UTC)To keep the size small, I suggest 1 to 3 AAA batteries (1.5 / 3.0 / 4.5 Volts) as the power source. The rest is some quick soldering and shrink-wrapping to make it all neat and tidy.
Edit: Did some research, and confirmed my thought that there are 3mm LEDs that will run off of a 3 volt (2-AAA battery) power supply. Should be cake.

Date: 2009-12-18 02:58 am (UTC)Realistically, I don't have the time to dedicate to something like this right now. All other projects are on hold until I get my new shed/shop built and after the holidays are over.
If this can get pushed out until January, then there is a much better chance I can crank these out in an afternoon for you and just hand them over. If it can't wait, I can go into detail as to how it would be done and you can take a stab at it.
