The big test comes tomorrow.

A bald python.

I am so not a snake person. So this is the big test (after that, the next big one is tarantulas..which are kind of worse...) to make sure I'm not going to lose it or act stupid.

I think I'll be OK. My rule is - no touching, no running lose, and no surprising me with reptiles or spiders and the vets are OK with that.

Lets hope the clients follow the rules.

A braver lass than I, m'dear. While I enjoy the company of (I think you mean) Ball Pythons and am indeed certified to handle them where I currently work, you couldn't get me in the same room with a T*** if you *tried*. Perhaps for all hte money in China -- but not for anything less ;>.

Oh, God. Tarantulas would be my #1 reason why I couldn't work your job. I am pathologically, paralyzingly afraid of spiders.

Snakes I think I could handle. I mean, they aren't my favorite thing ever, but I'm only afraid of them if they're doing something threatening, or say, very poisonous.

I know that they can seem like very scary/odd/threatening creatures but snakes can be utterly sweet. Especially ball pythons. (If it IS a ball -- I don't think I'm familiar with the bald variety) Balls are pretty small and just about the most easy going animals you could deal with. I could've had you over and you could've practiced holding Fluffy - darn. Did you get my vm on Sunday? It ended up being an exhausting weekend so I didn't get free of my obligations until late. I figured it was unlikely that you would still be in dwntwn, but I tried anyway.

Hope your date with the snake went well. Remember -- it is just a living creature with opinions and reactions like any. You are much bigger and scarier than it will ever be.
